Kernel Version - SMP CTF 2024 - Selection Round
While analyzing the network traffic, I observed that the attacker's User-Agent
string revealed that the attacker's machine is running on a Linux operating system.
Despite extensive searches, I couldn’t identify any direct clues about the attacker's kernel version. To overcome this, I attempted a shortcut, which successfully revealed the kernel version.
This provided the actual flag.
Note: To simplify the output and avoid an overwhelming number of strings, I used a negative search (-v
) to filter out irrelevant entries.
